Tonight I went to supper with my parents. Since the kitchen floor is being redone next week, they had cleared some of the clutter on the shelves by the phone.
I took a bunch of it home with me.
This is the first thing:
It is a “Top Trump” style card that I made from the cardboard of a packet of Kellogg’s Frosties. I must have been 8 years old or so. They were including a free Monster in My Pocket with each box of cereal. I cut out the pictures from the box and made a set of battle cards.
I remember once buying a Monster in My Pocket from the bike shop in Arbury Court, which Tony Barker ran. I was with my father. Tony Barker remarked on my buying the figure: “Its use is a mystery to man or beast” but, you know, I collected them.
